The Ghanaian Union in Thailand will host an online professional-development webinar on Saturday, 5 September 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thailand time, focusing on how internationally oriented postgraduate education can strengthen career prospects for educators and other professionals. Under the theme “Your Global Degree, Your Career Advantage: Unlocking Opportunities with a Master of Education,” the free Google Meet session comes as teachers and foreign professionals face growing pressure to strengthen qualifications, digital competencies and career-ready skills in an evolving employment environment. The webinar will feature Ms. Wichuda Wanaleesukson, Senior Academic Counselor at upGrad Thailand, and Mr. Frederick Akli, Student Representative at upGrad Thailand, with no registration required ahead of the event.

The webinar is expected to provide practical value to Ghanaian educators and other members of the international community in Thailand who are considering postgraduate study while remaining in employment. The advertised programme highlights a 100% online, flexible Master of Education pathway, while upGrad Thailand’s official education listings currently include a 14-month online M.Ed. from Edgewood University and other education programmes designed for working professionals.

By bringing an academic counselor together with a student representative, the session offers prospective learners an opportunity to hear both institutional guidance and a learner perspective on online postgraduate education, professional development and the potential role of advanced qualifications in long-term career planning.

The initiative also reflects wider education priorities being pursued in Thailand. The Thai Ministry of Education’s 2025–2026 education policy emphasizes lifelong learning, flexible education, modern technology, future skills and education that responds more closely to changing labour-market needs. The government has specifically promoted “Anywhere, Anytime” learning, professional skill development and greater access to quality education and training across different stages of life. This policy direction is reinforced by recent cooperation between Thailand’s Ministry of Education and UNESCO to strengthen digital learning and teacher capacity. UNESCO has stressed that technology must be accompanied by stronger teacher and learner capabilities if digital education is to produce meaningful and inclusive outcomes.
