English Camp Games for Teachers: G-Union Thailand Announces 22 August 2026 Webinar

BANGKOK, Thailand — The Ghanaian Union in Thailand (G-Union) will hold a professional-development webinar titled “English Camp Games for Teachers” on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thailand time via Google Meet. According to the official event poster, educator Kru Diamond will facilitate the session, which is designed to introduce teachers to fun, interactive and practical English-camp games that can energize classrooms and encourage greater learner participation. With the webinar only days away, the programme is particularly timely for English teachers seeking practical activities that can be adapted for camps, regular lessons, warm-ups, vocabulary practice and communicative classroom tasks.

The webinar addresses a wider educational priority: moving language learning beyond passive instruction toward meaningful communication and active participation. Thailand’s Ministry of Education has previously promoted Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and the use of activities and learning environments that encourage students to practise English communication.

More recently, the Ministry’s 2025–2026 education policy has emphasized “Happy Learning,” foreign-language development, modern learning approaches and improving the quality of education for learners. The G-Union webinar therefore complements—not formally represents—the government’s broader direction by giving participating teachers an opportunity to explore practical strategies that may make English lessons more engaging and learner-centred.

The potential public impact extends beyond the teachers attending the webinar. When educators acquire activities that encourage students to speak, cooperate, listen and solve problems in English, those strategies can be transferred directly into classrooms and English camps across Thailand. The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) has highlighted active-learning approaches—including games, songs, mind mapping and role play—as techniques that can increase learner participation and develop English communication skills in contexts closer to real-life language use.

For foreign and Ghanaian educators working in Thailand, practical professional-development initiatives can consequently support both teacher confidence and students’ opportunities to use English rather than simply study it.

International English-language teaching guidance also supports the thoughtful use of games when they serve clear learning objectives. The British Council notes that well-designed games can form an integral part of a properly staged English lesson rather than functioning merely as time-fillers, while its teacher-development resources describe interactivity in games as a means of supporting engagement and language acquisition.

Games can provide purposeful opportunities for vocabulary recycling, listening, speaking, teamwork and communication; however, their educational value depends on appropriate instructions, learning objectives, age suitability and effective classroom management. The upcoming webinar’s emphasis on being “Fun, Engaging, Effective” therefore reflects an important principle: successful classroom games should combine enjoyment with measurable language practice.

As the August 22 webinar approaches, the Ghanaian Union in Thailand is positioning the programme as another opportunity for educators to share practical knowledge and strengthen professional connections within Thailand’s teaching community. Under the message “Play. Learn. Inspire!”, the session aims to equip participants with ideas they can adapt to their own learners, classrooms and English-camp environments.

Teachers interested in participating should confirm access details through the organizers and G-Union’s official communication channels. Ultimately, the value of the initiative will lie not simply in playing games, but in helping educators turn purposeful play into stronger communication, greater participation and more memorable English-learning experiences—advancing the Union’s message: “Together We Grow; Together We Inspire!”
